Football
In what has been an up and down year for the mighty Bloods and Hearts, OHAFC are extremely proud of the development of our club, on and off the field.
Our Under 19s men’s team have provided a real highlight for our club, making it through to their Grand Final. We cannot wait to see how they develop into senior players.
Despite a tough year all around, our senior Bloods and Hearts teams showed fantastic grit throughout the year — we look forward to seeing them in 2024!
As a club, we continue to go from strength to strength, with a fantastic group of supporters all contributing to building the club we love.
Our key focus points, including our player wellbeing and education program, continue to be strengthened under the leadership of President, Matthew Armstrong and the committee.
Thank you for your support and we can’t wait to see you for the next season!

Cricket
The Old Haileybury Cricket Club started the 2023/2024 season in October. The Club’s men’s team performed brilliantly in the previous season, losing narrowly in a semi-final to eventual winners, Old Scotch. The women’s team were challenged by moving up a division but put in a gritty performance in every round. Both teams are looking forward to what they can achieve in 2023/2024. Anyone interested in playing men’s or women’s cricket can get in touch at via email.

Aerobics
OHA Aerobics has had an incredible 2023 season, marked by outstanding achievements and remarkable performances. Our Adult National Pairs, consisting of Jessie Curtain (OH 2014) and Olivia Jenkins (OH 2017), proudly secured a silver medal. Additionally, our Adult National Fitness Team, Jessie Curtain, Olivia Jenkins, Molly Back (OH 2015), Sophie Taylor (OH 2021) and Tara Traficante (OH 2022), achieved 4th place in a fiercely competitive section.
Competing against the nation’s elite Sport Aerobics clubs, the OHA team has demonstrated unwavering dedication and commitment, earning well-deserved recognition for their exceptional performances throughout the 2023 season. Collectively, the OHA Aerobics team has secured an impressive tally of one gold, three silver medals, and one bronze medal during the 2023 aerobics season.
Looking ahead, the OHA Aerobics team is already gearing up for the upcoming 2024 season. New members are always welcome! Please contact Jessie Curtain via email for further information.

Cross Country
We finished the season on a solid note beating home both Old Xav’s 3 and Old Xav’s 4 to finish 7th at the Cooke McClelland 8km. Special mention to Douglas Lee for going above and beyond to run the course solo before the race to be available for timing duties. Despite running a bit further than he should have, he scraped into Team 1 ahead of Olsen Gasson who also deserves a special mention. At age 11, Olsen ground out a really tough 8km course to well and truly earn his Prime energy drink promised by Dad, Dean. The return of Scotty Peacock from his European travels gave us a timely boost, whilst the President, Andrew Scott battled on the brutal 8km hilly terrain and flirted with his first ever result slower than five minutes per kilometre. He just snuck inside to finish a touch over 39 minutes. David Bayley led us home again in 12th and has been our clear stand out athlete all season. Get on board in season 2024. We would love to see a few old faces along with plenty of new ones. Contact Andrew Scott via email.

Bowls
On behalf of the Old Haileybury Bowls Club Committee, I would like to welcome all members, past and new, to the 2023–24 bowls season. The most recent 2023 season for OHBC was extremely successful on a number of fronts and has certainly set the club up well for this year’s program. Some of the club’s achievements include but are not limited to:
Expanding the OHA representation in the SDELBA to include an additional joint OHA–Cheltenham team.
Our Division 4 team taking out the club’s inaugural premiership — what an achievement!
In the APS Past Students tournament, the OHBC team came agonisingly close to securing another victory.
Club coaching in 2023 ramped up and helped all bowlers to adapt to the requirements and rigours of the game whilst improving individual skill levels (and having fun).
OHBC with the OHA, successfully conducted the first EOY OHA Clubs social bowls event and the club was represented at OHA Week celebration at Haileybury during the year.

OHA Dance
OHA Dance is a club dedicated to maintaining the Haileybury Dance community. The club’s dance team, Imperial, is led by faculty member Melissa Kriv, who coaches and choreographs the team’s routines. Many Imperial members are actively involved in the Haileybury Dance community coaching the After School Dance Program, Middle School and Senior School Competition Teams.
This year Imperial have continued their competition streak at the TFT Dance Star Competition throughout the year in the Old Skool Open Genre section. The team took everyone on a trip down memory lane with their ‘90s themed hip hop routine earning them a berth to the Nationals in Adelaide. Imperial have had an amazing run in 2023, taking home first place at the Nationals in an incredibly tough section and cannot wait for the 2024 season.

Aikman Club
From Learn to Row to Racing!
The Aikman Club is excited to announce that our Learn to Row squad raced in their first regatta at Bendigo in October. The crew, coached by Paul Diggerson, has been learning to row through the winter and raced in the sprint regatta in a quad scull.
With the Boatclub Family Day scheduled for December, we are looking for crews to take on the firsts in the annual Aikman Club President’s Cup Challenge Sprint. The distance is only 250 metres and is the highlight of the Family Day. If you are interested in getting your crew back together, contact us to schedule a paddle.
With the warmer weather now upon us, come down and join us at the National Water Sports Centre on a Sunday morning. Other times can be arranged on request.
